As one of DVG LV America’s first official judges, Hartmut Beckman brings an unparalleled wealth of knowledge and experience to our championship! He is not only the protection judge for this year’s LV DVG America National Championship but has also served as the LV LRO (Director of Judges) for DVG LV America for many years.
“At the age of 15, I began training my first Schutzhund dog when I joined a DVG club in Lübeck, Germany. Little did I know at the time, I would spend 50 years in this great Sport. Since that time, I have trained and shown many dogs and various breeds in over 200 competitions at all levels, including Championships.
In 1981 I became a DVG Judge and have judged over 300 trials since then, including many Championships in America, as well as Europe, and other countries around the world.
I recently retired and hope I will be able to spend more time again training dogs which is still my main hobby, but I also enjoy skiing, playing cards with friends, and a good glass of wine or two…
I am excited to be part of this year’s DVG Nationals and I wish the hosting club all the best for a wonderful competition, and best of luck to all competitors!”
